IUIAS invites IU faculty members engaged in broadly humanistic work (including historical and humanistic social sciences) sited in any discipline to apply to be one of the two IU-nominated candidates for the National Humanities Center Summer Residency, which will take place in June 2026. Selected Residents will have individual studies in the NHC building in the woods of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and receive support from the NHC Library staff during their time in residence.
Due to high demand, the 2026 National Humanities Center (NHC) Select Summer Residency will be a competitive program with a capped enrollment of 40 participants. As an NHC Institutional Sponsor University, Indiana University may nominate two faculty members for consideration by NHC for their Select Summer Residency. Note that (1) candidates selected for nomination must commit to being in residence at NHC for the entire month of June 2026 and (2) nomination by IUIAS is not a guarantee of a spot in the NHC Summer Residency Program. Final select will be made by NHC.
