Visiting Fellowship

Visiting Fellowship Program

The Visiting Fellowship program enables collaborations between colleagues from beyond Indiana University and tenured or tenure-track faculty at IUB through short-term visits to the IUB campus. Projects may lead to scholarly publications, grant applications, performances, or exhibits.

The length of a visiting fellow’s residency is typically two weeks. IU IAS funding support for a Visiting Fellowship is $3,000, even if a longer stay is arranged. You may combine IU IAS support with support from other units. If this is your plan, please include information about other funding you have secured or will seek in your nomination materials.

Logistical arrangements for Fellows are the responsibility of the IUB faculty sponsors, but the IU IAS staff can assist with arranging library privileges and housing. Advance planning for logistical arrangements is particularly important for international visitors. Host faculty are expected to take the lead in arranging necessary travel documentation, such as visas or other U.S. entry documents. Please include information about your timeline for securing these documents in your application.
