Ani Kavafi an and Friends

A Chamber Music Recital

IAS Visiting Fellow Ani Kavafian will perform in collaboration with IU faculty and students. Performing with Professor Kavafian will be Evelyne Brancart (piano), Peter Stumpf (cello), and the Zorá Quartet (Seula Lee, violin; Pablo Muñoz Salido, viola; Dechopol Kowintaweewat, viola; Zizai Ning, cello). Repertoire for the evening will be Beethoven’s Sonata in C Minor for violin and piano, Op. 30 No. 2; Ravel’s Sonata for violin and cello (1920-22); and W. A. Mozart’s String Quintet in C Major, K.515.

Professor Kavafian, faculty member of Yale’s School of Music, maintains an active touring and recording schedule. She is also an artist member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and concertmistress of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. Professor Kavafian’s visit to IU Bloomington is hosted by Jacobs School of Music Professor Kevork Mardirossian.

The concert free and is open to the IU community and the general public.
